Dr Antony Suter finished his medical training at the Otago School of Medicine in 1993, travelled
and worked as a doctor in New Zealand and England, before commencing training in Ophthalmology
in 1996. He completed his Ophthalmology specialist training in Dunedin and Christchurch
in 2004, and worked briefly in Nelson before completing a further 2 years of fellowships
in the UK in cataract, glaucoma, paediatrics and medical retina. Upon returning to New Zealand
in 2006, he took up a Consultant Ophthalmologist position in Nelson, and consults and operates
both in private practice and at Nelson Public Hospital. His areas of interest include glaucoma,
cataract and strabismus surgery but he enjoys caring for people with the wide range of different
eye disorders that are seen. He has three sons, and enjoys the beautiful
Nelson and Tasman outdoors whenever possible.
